Destiny 2 is dead! Edge of Fate killed it. Here are the top 5 upcoming looter-shooters in 2026 that respect your time.
Oh man! It is tough being a Destiny 2 fan right now. Low player count, a boring ass grind for power level, cheaters, and spaghetti code bugs.
But fear not, Guardian! There’s a whole bunch of looter-shooters that won’t treat your free time like seasonal currency. Heading into 2026, let’s explore fresh new worlds that ain’t Destiny!
The Cube
From the devs behind Atomic Heart, this MMO shooter throws you into a massive spinning cube filled with monsters, loot, and dimensional weirdness. Imagine Destiny and Halo had a baby, throw in a weapon mod system and some First Descendant-style visuals. It’s surreal, stylish, and potentially the next big co-op obsession.
Project LLL
Project LLL is an open-world MMO shooter with mechs, set in a post-apocalyptic version of Seoul. Expect PvPvE firefights and slick, sci-fi weaponry. This one's all about verticality and firepower. Let’s hope it fills the gap Titanfall left in our hearts. If you want to see why we thought Titanfall 2 was so special, check out our previous video on it.
PIONER
Set on a Soviet sci-fi island with factions, mutations, and loot galore, PIONER is all about survival, exploration, and co-op raids with serious firepower. It’s giving Escape from Tarkov vibes without being an extraction shooter, just raw, brutal PvPvE with upgradeable weapons and gear to grind.
Witchfire
Think Dark Souls meets Destiny, but with loot and powers that keep you hooked. Dark, brutal, and stylish as hell. Witchfire throws you into a grimdark fantasy world with firearms, magic, and roguelite mechanics. While it leans more on the hardcore side, it still has loot, a satisfying progression, high-stakes gameplay, and weapons and abilities that hit like a truck. If you like Witchfire’s style, but want a game you can play with friends, well, the next one should be more your speed…
Hunger
From the creators of Hell Let Loose comes Hunger, a gritty, atmospheric looter-shooter that feels like Hunt: Showdown wandered into a medieval apocalypse. Set in post-collapse Europe, you and your squad will dive into plague-ridden zones, blasting through supernatural horrors while scavenging gear to survive the next nightmare. Its PVPVE action is going for tense situations that require you to make every bullet matter. If you’re tired of neon sci-fi loot drops and just want something grim and grounded, Hunger should be the game in your sights.
